Southbourne School of English is a family run school that was established in 1966. It is located in a beautiful residential area of Bournemouth where young families and professionals live. It is in a friendly, safe and clean area and is on very good bus routes, and close to a railway station. It is only a short walk from the local high street and 10 minutes to the beautiful beach, which is one of the longest sandy beaches in England.

Southbourne School of English has been teaching English for over 50 years. Many things have changed over that time but our commitment to providing quality English teaching in a safe environment is still the same. We offer adult and junior courses and have a summer residential centre in Bournemouth. We are an Examination centre for Cambridge lower suite, BEC and Trinity. The school is still family owned, situated in a quiet suburb of Bournemouth just 10-minutes’ walk from the beach and most of our host families are within walking distance of the school. Changes over the last few years include the addition of new classrooms (23 now), interactive whiteboards and wifi throughout the school. Our local shopping area is thriving and now benefits from a range of independent and well-known restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The staff at school are friendly and look forward to welcoming you whether you want to learn English for business, pleasure or study.

Residence Option: Founded in 1899, Bournemouth Collegiate School is a traditional British boarding school. Just two minutes from the beach, the school is surrounded by eight acres of private tree-lined land, providing privacy and security for our students.
Residence Option: Rooms vary from single to multi-bed dormitories. Recently refurbished, the rooms are clean, bright and comfortable.
Homestay Option: All of our families are within walking distance of the school (5-25 minutes max).
