Assessment of, for and as Learning

Introduction
It is commonly recognised that early-career teachers often lack the confidence and the skills to develop meaningful assessment opportunities for their learners.
Indeed, assessment itself is mistakenly seen as being synonymous with developing tests which demonstrate learning at the end of a given period of learning. This masterclass challenges the view that testing and assessment are synonymous and provides practical examples of assessment activities which can create better learning, better teaching and better learners.
It introduces the concepts of assessment of, for and as learning and suggests that an awareness of assessment ideas from mainstream education can inform and improve our practice.
