Introduction

From understanding to managing conflict successfully

When we deal with conflicts, our success will depend on understanding conflict in general, and on the tools we have developed to handle these challenging situations. To a large extent, it will also depend on how far we are aware of our own attitudes towards conflict.

In this session, we will define what conflict is, and explore how varying attitudes towards conflict may affect communication within a group or an organisation. We will also analyse some example situations of confrontation to see where successful conflict management starts
