Reporting to Head of HR for NW Europe, France and Italy and working closely with Country Director France, postholder will provide leadership and effective support to activity leads and business managers, advising on French law and HR strategy and policy as well as representing management to staff representatives.
Head of Human Resources will manage 4 local HR support posts.
The postholder will be a member of the senior management team for British Council in France and the EU regional HR team.
This is a unique opportunity to to lead on human resource (HR) management and industrial relations for British Council in France. To ensure proactive management and mitigation of legal and operational risk relating to human resource management through providing HR expertise and securing legal advice.
The HR Advisory function focuses on the legally and culturally compliant execution of people plans and provides practical advice to the business as well as assistance in planning and implementation of activities that flow from the strategic capabilities. The role will ensure the effective delivery of the people agenda through sound advice and support to the business on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to internal policies and external legal frameworks within the country/area. The role will link in closely with the HRBP function in order to delivery on the overarching regional strategy.
Also, you will be responsible:
Work closely with People BP’s and the business to ensure business and HR requirements are translated into tangible actions
Contribute to the implementation of a new HR Op Model, providing feedback to the relevant HR functions to drive continuous improvement.
Clear understanding of service proposition and able to draw on right resources to deliver these
Quickly builds effective relationships within HR – Operations, SSC, Business Partnering and CoE’s
And your main accountabilities will be in areas like:
Consultancy, analysis & problem-solving
Internal customer focus
Functional and advisory expertise
Relationship & stakeholder management
To become our successful candidate:
You will need to have considerable experience in a generalist of specialist HR Advisory role in France as well as strong experience of advising on and supporting the implementation of change
You will need also to possess strong sstrong systems knowledge and skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Payroll and HRIS) and good knowledge of Employee Relations, Performance Management, Recruitment and Reward
Also, having strategic thinking and exceptional attention to detail will be mandatory for this position.
Having demonstrable experience in a generalist of specialist HR Advisory role across a number of EU countries, preferably Belgium and/or the Netherlands as well as experience in an international environment would be considered a strong plus
From a specific skill point a view, we are looking for a candidate with the ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different audiences
This is an indefinite post based in Paris, France, open to all candidate who have the right to work in EU. For candidate based outside Paris, France, we are not offering a relocation package
