English Lecturer (Sessional)
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill)
Hourly pay rate: £29.77/hour (£24.97/hour + £4.80/hour as payment for annual leave)
Hours: 6 hours/week – Tuesdays & Thursday, 18:00-21:00pm
Start date: 6 September 2021
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Sessional English Lecturer to join our Maths, English, Teacher Training & ESOL department.
In this rewarding post you will be delivering teaching on our GCSE and Functional Skills classes to adult learners, though the role may involve teaching 16-18’s in future academic years.
Working closely with the Head of Department and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. In particular, you will have a strong focus on delivering innovative and student led learning.
You will also be responsible for acting as a personal tutor, promoting and tracking attendance, participating in team meetings and contributing to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.
The successful candidate must have:
A full teaching qualification
A minimum of an A Level in English Language (though a Degree qualification would be strongly desired)
Recent GCSE & Functional Skills teaching experience (ideally within an FE environment)
Experience teaching both adults students and 16-18 year olds
