Rachel Rowland

I have been teaching English since 2003 and TEFL has opened many interesting doors for me. It has allowed me to teach all over the world. Some of the fascinating places I have lived and worked in are Jakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Italy, and Germany. Teaching English has allowed me to meet a wide range of interesting people, as well as gain a better understanding of myself.  Since returning to the UK in 2009, I have been a Director of Studies, an Academic Manager, and for the last two years, I have been working with TEFL Org UK, delivering TEFL courses and helping others to develop their teaching skills and achieve their TEFL dreams.

I am also a qualified Hypnotherapist and really enjoy helping people to work through their personal issues. I have a lot of empathy for others and believe that my listening skills are one of my strengths. This helps me within my role as a teacher too! In addition, I am currently studying Nutrition and Biomedicine part-time.

A quirky fact about me is that before I entered the TEFL world, I worked in music for 7 years and met lots of famous people, including Michael Jackson, The Black-Eyed Peas, and Marianne Faithfull.

My goals are to be as successful as I can, to use my strengths to help others, and to never give up!
