Phil McQuillan was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was only 5 and was one of the first children in Bradford to receive support for having a learning difference. He was taken out of class to do extra learning as well as having a support assistant and extra time in exams. Phil was reassessed for dyslexia when he went on to Birmingham City University and was diagnosed with the same score as when he was 5. He understands how teachers can work with children with learning difficulties effectively and has recently been working with Virtual College who run online courses to help support teachers in their work with children and professional development.
