UK Child Guardianship Service
Welcome to the Gallery Teachers UK Child Guardianship Service
The Gallery Teachers UK Child Guardianship Service is a complete guardianship care package for young international students studying at a UK independent school. Our friendly and experienced team provide a caring service for our students and their parents from start to finish – tailored to suit the needs and supervision required by each student. As a UK language school, accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, we understand how independent schools work within the British education system and we are committed to helping your child to get the best from their studies in the UK. We understand the anxieties and worries that families may have when sending their children to study abroad. For most UK boarding schools it is a requirement for all international students to appoint a guardian based in the UK – a responsible adult who will be available on behalf of parents in case of emergency, as well as ensuring students’ needs are met during times when the school is closed.
We provide assistance to students studying at schools throughout England. Our office is based in London with local coordinators located across the country. Our Guardianship team is trained in Child Protection to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child, as well as offering extensive support throughout your child’s stay in the UK, from purchasing school uniforms to arranging holiday tuition. Students usually return home to spend the long holidays at Christmas, Easter and Summer with their parents, although we can arrange for stays in the UK if necessary. We also offer a selection of holiday courses at our KKCL Juniors English language school.
As soon as they enrol, students are allocated an Account Manager who will look after them throughout the year. The package includes the following services:
- Concierge Package
Tailored to individual student needs.
- Platinum Package
Compulsory for students aged 15 and below.
- Gold Package
For students aged 16 and above.
- Silver Package
For students aged 18 and above.
All packages include an initial visit from a member of the Gallery Teachers team. Upgrades can be made at any time during the term and will be applied to the account immediately when requested in writing. We will attempt to facilitate arrangements required outside the scope of your current package with a fee of £50 added to your account for each new arrangement.
Half Term Easter and Summer Courses
We offer creative juniors English courses at our partner schools, providing an exciting English experience during half term, Easter and Summer holidays.
In addition to English courses, we can also arrange Easter Revision courses in the world famous Harrow School. Harrow School Easter Revision Courses are suitable for students taking GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A2 exams during the current academic year. The revision courses are designed to improve students’ grades by increasing their knowledge, refining their examination technique and boosting confidence. Whilst attending revision courses in Harrow School, students can also join our IELTS Exam Preparation course, making sure students get a place at their first choice university.
Whether it’s an airport transfer, traveling to and from school to a homestay or a school entrance exam visit, we can ensure that students arrive safely. On arrival in the UK, students are greeted by a member of KKCL staff who will be able to provide helpful advice and support.
Everyone transporting a student as part of our Child Guardianship Service will have the appropriate car insurance and will have had a DBS check completed. All students requiring transport with Gallery Teachers will receive a full confirmation detailing the driver’s name and contact number along with their car registration, color and model, prior to their journey. When booking taxis for our students, we only use companies that have been recommended and used by their school.
For homestay arrangement, we also ask our homestay hosts to facilitate the pick up and drop-off to and from school for the students. This ensures students and their homestay hosts are recognised quickly by each other.
From time to time, students may need to leave school unexpectedly, their flight may be cancelled leaving a gap once the school has closed or they may need to leave school during some leave weekends (e.g. exeat weekends) and half term holidays. We can offer safe and secure homestay accommodation during these planned and unexpected events.
We vet each homestay host and match each individual student to the right host based on their requirements. All our homestay hosts are cleared with an enhanced DBS (criminal background check).
