Safeguarding Basic Awareness Course
Find out about what duty of care adults have when working with students in the UK and what to do if a safeguarding situation should arise.
Everyone working with children in the UK needs to complete basic awareness training in safeguarding. Learn about or refresh your knowledge of safeguarding with this updated course prepared for 2022.
Why is This Course Important
In the United Kingdom and many other countries, schools with students under the age of 18 have a legal ‘duty of care’ to safeguard those students. Therefore it is compulsory for everyone working with the organisation to understand safeguarding and their ‘duty of care’ responsibilities. The training starts here with this specially designed course.
In this course, you will be introduced to:
- Safeguarding
- Child Protection
- Recognising and Responding to Abuse
- The Government’s ‘Prevent’ Strategy
” … safeguarding children is one of the most valuable things we do for international students in the UK; it is very important that we get it right… “

Excellent course!
I believe that all ELT institutions and all establishments that work with under 18s should oblige potential employees to take a course of this kind before taking them on.
It is of paramount importance for minors to be safeguarded at all times.

Very informative
A very useful update on safeguarding in schools
I enjoyed this course very much and even though I have done many before there were a couple of new updates to UK legislation that I was not aware of.
I do think however that the instructions for how to get down to the quiz for each section could be made more obvious. I watched the link several times without success and finally had to ring Gallery for help in finding them!
