Introduction
The workshop starts with a brief look at the lexical approach and why chunking – the practice of conceiving of language in pre-fabricated phrases – makes for more efficient learning and more natural output. This is followed by a series of ready-to-go activities that apply the approach, which teachers can then use in their classrooms right away.
The workshop will give teachers the skills to allow their students to “discover” lexical chunks and to exploit lexical patterns in listening and reading exercises, empowering learners by giving them the ability to recall larger pieces of language at once, self-study more effectively, and sound more natural in their communication.

Preparing for the Workshop
Our Masterclass workshops are typically delivered in 90 mins.
At Gallery Teachers, we endorse the philosophy of building on your previous knowledge and experience as opposed to just imparting knowledge on you.
Therefore, in order to prepare you for the webinar and help you activate what you already know about the topic, we will suggest two to four reflective questions for you to consider before you join the event.
You will also be given the opportunity to post your reflections, along with any questions you may already have at the pre-watching stage, to the discussion forum.
The reflective questions, as well as ideas and shared experiences posted to the forum by attendees, will be used in the real-time Q&A session in order to generate an engaging and meaningful discussion, involving the presenter and teachers from around the world.
After the event, the forum discussion will take on a life of its own and teachers will be encouraged to continue posting their experiences, reflections and questions related to the topic of the webinar. So, if you feel strongly about the topic, we will make it possible for you to take the discussion beyond the scheduled workshop and continue sharing your ideas with like-minded teachers and teacher trainers from other countries

Lexical Approach
The Gallery Teacher Master Classes are amazing, thank you Janice, Hedi and Gabi. As a relatively new teacher, Gabriel´s presentation and the discussion afterwards are enormously helpful.
Lexical Approach
Lexical Approach is one of the most popular approaches in the field of language education. It was a very good webinar.
Awareness of chunks of language is the key to fluent and natural English
It was a very productive and practical session. Many essential aspects of lexical approach and its correlation with other methods were raised and discussed by the participants of the workshop. It has become clear that encouraging language learners, esp. at the lower levels, to use collocations and colligations without too much ‘grammatization’ allows them to start speaking/writing sooner and can boost their confidence.
Lexical Approach
An excellent workshop with plenty of points to discuss into the idea/ concept of LA. I think we could have done with a longer session. Very good questions posed and fantastic interventions. I highly recommend it.
