      Reflective Questions:
      1. What are some of the major hurdles in Intercultural Competence?
      2. Why are there so many obstacles?
      3. Whose fault is it?
      4. How do we change and eliminate misunderstandings?

1.-I think that It is not enough with speaking a “lingua Franca”, such as English to be intercultural competent.
2.-I don’t think they should be called obstacles when, perhaps, those obstacles are just big cultural differences that, and despite the globalisation, still exist in many parts of the world and in the fact that each individual culture wants to preserve their own traditions, believes and ethics for their younger generations. The thought of the world becoming uniform scares me to death.
3.- The fact that we are all different is not anybody’s fault. Multiculturalism is great and provided we show an interest in understanding other cultures along with respect, the choice is ours to go along with it or retreat to our cave.
4.- Probably, I would say understanding and respecting the differences but more than anything else sharing common projects together that should be beneficial globally.

1&2 Cultural, religious and mentality differences count much. Education level is also very important.
3.There is nobody ‘s fault. As human beings are different, people’s backgrounds and traditions are different, the areas/regions in the world where we live are different.
4.Misunderstandings could be at least changed… if not eliminated by making more common effort in order to recognize, understand and learn some of the differences and allow the progress for our well-being in our intercultural competence.
