Have a quick think about the reflective questions below in order to get the most out of the workshop:
1. What is the difference between assessment of learning and assessment for learning?
2. Who is responsible for setting learning aims?
3. In what ways can the teacher share learning aims with students?
4. What do we mean when we say that teachers and students should celebrate mistakes?
1.- Is assessment of learning a type of formal assesment to evaluate students according to some fixed parameters provided by educational bodies, whereas assesment for learning is a broader concept that, under their teacher’s guidance, mainly implicates the students in their own learning and helps them, at the same, time to reflect on their own learning and their peers learning?
2.- Aims are prescribed in the text books. However, how important is the teachers’s role to implement new aims that fit students’s needs?
3.- Addapting materials…
4.- Making mistakes helps students to revise and to expand on their learning.
