Jessica FanKeymasterHave a quick think about the reflective questions below in order to get the most out of the workshop:
1. Testing and assessment: same or different?
2. How important is it for teachers and their learners to understand the ideas behind the assessment of /for and as learning?
3. How important is it for EFL practitioners to be open to ideas from mainstream education? - 22nd July 2021 at 1:56 pm #336068

Participant1. I think they are two different things but,I may be wrong as this is my personal perception and may lack objectivity. I consider testing confined to specific aspects of learning where a mark is going to be given following strict parameters. I think of an assessment as a more relaxed way of evaluating students without the rigidity of a test. This in, my opinion, gives the student a chance to feel more relaxed without being aware that he/she is being assessed.
2.Very important. I want to learn more and get the right idea about it.
3.Extremely important, but also viceversa. Having taught both at mainstream and EFL schools, I believe that being open to both groups“ ideas can help to improve the quality of teaching and the results in both fields.
