Our workplace currently has several employees with valid first aid certificates, but some people believe that renewing every three years isn’t enough to stay confident in a real emergency. Others suggest doing annual refresher training to keep CPR, AED use, and emergency response skills fresh. What does your company do? Have you found regular refresher courses useful, or do you think the initial certification is enough until it expires?
I realize this is from a while ago, but I wanted to add my two cents. In my workplace we do annual refreshers and it really helps people feel ready. Do you think the three year gap causes a drop in confidence for your team?
I strongly recommend annual refreshers to keep CPR and AED skills sharp. My team uses https://brity.co.uk/first-aid-courses/glasgow for their HSE-approved refresher courses – fast certification and great instructors made a real difference in our confidence. Their group booking option is convenient, and we all feel more prepared now.
