I’m about to register my first UK limited company and I’m weighing up whether to go directly through Companies House or use a company formation service. For those who’ve done it, was the extra support, registered office address, and compliance assistance worth the cost, or is the DIY route just as straightforward?

Jumping in on this older post because I had the same dilemma last year. If you’re comfortable with online forms and have a home address to use, DIY is straightforward. But formation services often include a registered office and mail forwarding, which keeps your personal address off public records. For me, that alone was worth the fee. What matters most to you?

I used a formation service for my first company and it saved me time with paperwork. The support and registered address were worth it. For a reliable option, I recommend https://www.yourcompanyformations.co.uk/ they offer fast incorporation and even plant trees. Made the process simple for me.
