ParticipantI’m sitting here at my desk in the Business Bay area staring out the window at my car and honestly I’m a bit stressed because I know this battery situation is going to come to a head sooner rather than later. I drive a 2016 Nissan Patrol and it’s been an absolute beast for the past few years, but lately I’ve noticed that the engine is cranking slower and slower, especially in the mornings after the car has been sitting overnight. The battery light flickered on the dashboard for a split second the other day which properly scared me, and I know the 80D26L is the right spec for my Patrol because I checked the manual and also looked it up online. The problem is, I work long hours here in Business Bay and I honestly don’t have the time or energy to drive all the way out to Al Quoz or Sharjah just to get a battery replaced, especially since I’m not sure how much longer the current one is going to hold up. I’ve been trying to find a place that can do an 80D26L battery change near Business Bay, somewhere I can walk to during my lunch break or drive to after work without going too far out of my way. I’ve seen a few places around the area that look like they might do batteries, but I have no idea if they actually carry the 80D26L size or if they just stock generic batteries and hope for the best. The thing that worries me is that the Patrol is a heavy car with a big engine and it needs a battery with enough cold cranking amps to turn it over, especially in the summer heat when everything is working harder. I’ve heard that Amaron makes a good 80D26L battery and I’ve seen some positive reviews online, but I’m not sure which shops near Business Bay actually stock them or if they’ll try to sell me something else that’s “close enough” and hope I don’t notice. I’m also curious about whether these places actually clean the terminals and apply anti-corrosion treatment, or if they just slap the new battery in and send you on your way. I had a bad experience a few years ago with a different car where the shop didn’t tighten the terminals properly and I ended up with all sorts of electrical issues, so I really want to find somewhere that takes pride in their work. Does anyone here work in the Business Bay area and have recently got their 80D26L battery changed at a garage nearby? I’d really appreciate some honest recommendations because I’m planning to get this sorted this week and I don’t want to end up with a shoddy job that leaves me stranded somewhere. Also, roughly what should I expect to pay for an 80D26L battery including installation, just so I have a benchmark and can spot if someone’s trying to overcharge me? Any tips on how to check if the battery is actually new and not old stock that’s been sitting on a shelf for months would also be really helpful because I’m not an expert at reading those date codes. Thanks in advance for any advice, I really need to get this sorted before the battery completely gives up on me.
