We’re opening a new school campus in Al Barsha South next month and I’ve been put in charge of ordering all the outdoor waste containers, which sounds simple enough but honestly there are so many sizes and types that I’m starting to get a headache just thinking about it. The campus has about 600 students and staff, and we’ll have multiple collection points around the playground, cafeteria area, and administrative block, so I need to figure out the right balance between having enough capacity and not having giant bins that look out of place everywhere. I’ve been looking at a few options and I think a garbage bin 660 liter size might be the sweet spot for our main collection points near the cafeteria where most of the waste comes from, but I’m wondering if that’s too big for the smaller areas where we just need something for occasional use. Also, does anyone know if these come with different color options for waste separation? We’re trying to implement a proper recycling program from day one and I’d love to have different colored bins for general waste, recyclables, and compost if possible. Would really appreciate any advice from other school administrators or facilities managers who’ve been through this process.
