A good lesson plan is essential in order to deliver a good lesson, especially in case of emergency. I totally agreed a good lesson plan should be easy to follow by another teacher, it is not about lengthy lesson plan. It also help us as a teacher to think it through the whole lesson. For those who are newly qualified, it definitely gives more confidence when delivering a lesson.

I agree that thorough lesson planning helps to avoid lots of mistakes. It also makes you analyze your lesson from different perspectives.

I agree, there is no substitute for planning and preparation,it boosts the confidence of the teacher, ensuring the lesson goes smoothly. A lesson plan does need to be very clear and easy for another teacher to follow in case you ever need someone to cover.

If a teacher wants to have an engaging and effective lesson, lesson planning is a must. Lesson planning creates a vision of what we expect from the lesson, from our students and from ourselves. If you spend enough time on lesson planning, your students will feel involved and engaged.

I loved this module. I´ve been in sales for 30 years and would never approach a potential client without planning each step and this course and especially this module has helped me to apply the same principles.

Books indeed can be boring. I am currently learning German and the previous book used by the teacher was less interesting and updated than the one we’re using today. This block provides important information on how to plan the lesson depending on the level of the student. I think that for beginners a book is reassuring as long as it offers enough practice.

I find this module really useful and well-structured, although it wasn’t always so smooth to go through the exercises (scrolling up and down to insert the right answer wasn’t that easy!).
I feel it really important, both for more and less experienced teachers. I did appreciate the section dedicated to the importance of adaptation and variation ;-)!

I enjoyed this module as well, although I’ve struggles a bit with the Planning with Coursebook quiz. The tasks were confusing to me and I had to reset it severeal times.
I take a lot in my practice from this module: the questions that I should ask myself when planning a lesson, my steps in writing Lesson Aims, scheme of writing a Lesson Plan Procedure, anticipating problems that may occurr during the lesson. All these and many other parts enable me to become a more confident language teacher. Thank you!

I fully agree on the importance of the lesson plan. It is basically the starting point, the basis, from where we can better organise our ideas and have clear objectives. I cannot imagine my daily life as a language teacher without a lesson plan. I think I would be insecure, fearful and I would give an unprofessional image to my students. Every teacher must have a lesson plan for each class, it’s a rule. I found this module quite interesting, it provided me with new knowledge and many new concepts.
