Have a quick think about the reflective questions below in order to get the most out of the workshop:
      1. Why does pronunciation matter?
      2. Is it important we all have the same pronunciation?
      3. Are regional accents a plus or a minus?
      4. How do students react to your accent?

Teaching pronunciation to students is very important and having good sounds is vital for communicating in an effective way.
However, it is not mandatory that we all have the same pronunciation. On the contrary, regional accents and varieties enrich the language in the classroom.
I normally tell my students that we all have an accent and it is part of our idiolect and culture. As long as our pronunciation does not impede communication and understanding it is perfectly fine to have an accent.
