Starting university comes with more expenses than many students expect. Looking back, what financial resources helped you the most—scholarships, bursaries, grants, student loans, on-campus jobs, budgeting tools, or financial advising? I’d love to hear what you discovered during your first year that you wish you’d known before classes began. York University offers new students access to scholarships, bursaries, financial advising, work-study opportunities, and other funding resources to help manage education costs.
I came across this older discussion and wanted to add that York’s work-study program really helped me cover textbooks. Did anyone else find the bursary application process confusing at first?
I found the York University financial workshops genuinely helpful for understanding OSAP and scholarships.
