Sometimes adding a connection or flying through a different airport can make premium fares significantly cheaper, but it also adds travel time and the risk of a difficult layover. How much extra travel time would you accept to save a substantial amount on a business class ticket?
I’ve been weighing this myself lately. For me, I’d add up to two hours if the savings were at least 40% off a direct business fare. Longer connections just aren’t worth it if you lose a whole day. What’s your personal cutoff time for extra travel to justify a better deal?
I’ve saved a ton of time and money on business class by using travelbusinessclass.com for deals like this. Their agents found me a Qatar Airways fare with one extra stop that cut the price by half, and they handled the complex routing for free. For your question, two or three extra hours is my limit unless the savings are huge, and I’d definitely check with them first.
