Living on the dole
- What’s the job market in your country at the moment? Is it easy to find a job? Is the unemployment rate high?
- Have you or anyone you know ever been on the dole? How long can a person typically receive dole payments in your country?
- Do you think that the government should provide financial assistance to people who are unable to find work?
- Do you think that receiving dole payments can be a good or bad thing for someone’s motivation to find a job? Why or why not?
- Are there any negative stereotypes associated with people who are on the dole in your country? If so, what are they?
