This module made me aware that in schools students are not positioned in a correct set up which facilitates exchange.

Books indeed can be boring. I am currently learning German and the previous book used by the teacher was less interesting and updated than the one we’re using today. This block provides important information on how to plan the lesson depending on the level of the student. I think that for beginners a book is reassuring as long as it offers enough practice.

Is it only me or do the teachers in this course lack vocal variety that make them sound quite boring?

I am currently returning to the German language. While I can understand while reading I have difficulties in listening because of the various accents, different pitches, because of noise around. And this training as a trainer in English is very useful to me as a student in German.

Structure of a Reading Skills Lesson
I have completed and checked all the exercises but the course seems to be stuck. I have tried by clicking on “Ideas for tasks” but the system returns: “you must first complete ‘structure of a reading skills lesson'” – what am I doing wrong? This is urgent. Thanks

A good student is someone who understands why they learn a language. A learned language can become as fluent as a mother tongue.

I am from a generation when grammar was the main focus. Unfortunately we put little attention on the speaking skill, let alone the pronunciation! What I have experienced through my daughter is that today grammar has been put aside to leave more space to speaking. And that is wrong too. Indeed the acquisition of a language shall be a combination of skills and tools
