1.- I have participated in various EFL teaching forums in the past
2.- Research and findings are of capital importance and those findings influence our teaching and contribute to a better understanding on how to implement good quality teaching.
3.-Personally, I think there has been tremendous improvement since I started teaching many, many years ago. Technology, the constant ongoing research in ELT paired with the interest and enthusiasm of professionals has made it possible.

1.- I deal with emerging language all the time. Very often students want to express something and they use structures from their own language to make themselves understood, vocabulary, false friends even spelling. Most of the time, in speaking lessons as well as in written activities, emerging language has to be addressed straight away so that the students can interiorise the correct collocation, spelling, pronunciation… I feel easy about it and quite confident.
2.- I share emerging language within the context of the lesson to reinforce correctness. When it comes to written work, I write notes with the correct structure and and example for student to consider.

1.- I think to have some idea of what business involve is necessary in order to teach BE business.
2.- When it comes to dating with BE the language is more specific.
3.- To be an English teacher you don’t need to learn about BE but if you want to fork onto that direction I believe some sort of background is necessary.

      1. They both should be used whenever the teaching requires it.
      2.-Linking, elision…?
3.-Not necessary but I can’t labour on that.

1.-I have to admit that I am never 100% confident. Now and then I need to write the word to make sure of the spelling.
2.-I Used to read a all the time. I like reading.I would often come across new words that I did not know how to pronounce them and I would ask. I then would mentally repeat several times until the sound came out fine and I could match it with the word.
3.-I personally think it is very irregular. I remember English children at primary school struggling with spelling when doing their reading. I also observed that when they learnt a spelling pattern and the pronunciation of the words, but came across a word with the same spelling but different sound they applied the same rule.
4.- Both. Despite the new technologies solving the spelling problems, focusing on writing well is always necessary, regardless.

1.- Up the a certain degree, I believe I have always done so in my lessons. However, lately our students, with the widespread use of technology, are constantly exposed to visual stimuli which I would like to think makes certain aspects of teaching easier as they can interpret and make meaning from images we may be using to teach a given lesson.
2.-To incorporate extra visual materials to help with the understanding of a text, given contex and to help to negotiate and extract meaning from images.
3.-When it implies text types such as adverts, signs, letters, emails, comic strips, film clips… visual literacy is being used in the classroom and I make good use of all those.
4.-It helps them to be more self-confident, to understand the context and become better critical thinkers and good negotiators.

1.- Is assessment of learning a type of formal assesment to evaluate students according to some fixed parameters provided by educational bodies, whereas assesment for learning is a broader concept that, under their teacher’s guidance, mainly implicates the students in their own learning and helps them, at the same, time to reflect on their own learning and their peers learning?
2.- Aims are prescribed in the text books. However, how important is the teachers’s role to implement new aims that fit students’s needs?
      3.- Addapting materials…
4.- Making mistakes helps students to revise and to expand on their learning.

1.-Allocating a fixed talking time to give others the chance to intervene.
2.-Ask him to pair with another student and take notes together to contribute to the end of the discussion.
3.-Personally, I believe that it should be included as part of a lesson but it needn’t be not explicitly obvious.

Would the use of Cuisenaire Rods be of any use for advanced students? I can see the use of them to help younger students to understand grammatical concepts and their order within a sentence, to learn the terminology of the language and to be able to generate questions, negative answers…

2.-I believe there is some kind of difference but not initially as the principles of writing are the same.
3.-The process involves revision, redrafting, discussion, achieving a quality paper… but, this process is also necessary for general purposes English

2.-I believe they do when you want to have teacher controlled lesson otherwise, students often welcome variety and different ways of doing things.
      3.- Yes, they do.
4.- No, I do not hide it when grammar is necessary for their progress and understanding of how language works.
