yewande.olusoreParticipantThe lessons were well structured. I found it difficult at first but the activities really helped.

yewande.olusoreParticipantThis module seems more challenging than previous modules. I like the fact that it has same sub skills with Reading skill. The exercises and quizzes were quite challenging as well. I had to go back to the lessons before I could answer them.

yewande.olusoreParticipantI found the module very interesting and useful. Seems a bit challenging but the well structured video and task were so helpful. Now I know how to design my reading lessons without hitch.

yewande.olusoreParticipantI find the following tips useful
5.Always remember to give students a clear, manageable task before they read! Do not forget to set time limits!
Clearinstructions will serve as a guide for the students. When you set time limits, you will be able to manage your time effectively and not spend too much time on a particular task.
7. Use pair checks after EACH task you ask students to do: This helps them to learn from each other and also build their confidence.
9.Pre-teach lexis will help students comprehension, but do not go overboard: provuding key vocabulary is good. But when it’s too much, the students will find the task very easy. As teachers, we are to guide and elicit information, not to give answers. - 25th March 2021 at 1:57 pm #322149
yewande.olusoreParticipantI found the module very interesting and helpful. As a new teacher, I learnt how to introduce a topic and get the students engaged. The module is really an eye opener.

yewande.olusoreParticipantLead in for Hannah’s lesson: I will put a picture of my wedding, a picture of me and my baby and a picture of a funeral.
I will them ask the students to tell me about what is going on in each picture. From their feedback, I will write salient points down.
Marriage Birth Death
Then I will ask them if they have attended any marriage ceremony, have carried/played with babies or lost any member of their families. This will be discussed in pairs.

yewande.olusoreParticipantBefore introducing the context of the lesson,
I can start with showing them a picture of different pets and tell them to mention their names.
I can sing a nursery rhyme like Mary has a little lamb…I will show them a picture of my pet and tell them a story about how I got it.
I can also ask them if they have got any pet at home.

yewande.olusoreParticipantA good Teacher must first build trust and love in the hearts of the children towards him or her. A good teacher must be creative, flexible,be able to plan and organise, and understand how each student learns

yewande.olusoreParticipantI believe a good student should be attentive in class, eager to learn, comes to school on time, does his/her homework, is active in class and not afraid to ask questions.

yewande.olusoreParticipantI am currently learning German, I noticed there is less attention on listening. We focus more on Grammar and vocabulary.

yewande.olusoreParticipantI don’t think it’s possible for one to communicate effectively or teach English with very little understanding of English tenses except on a basic level.
